BORDEAUX – 5-a-side soccer teams descend on Old Parktonian Sports Club to help support a worthy cause – Ann Harding Cheshire Home.

The Ann Harding Cheshire Home 5-a-side indoor soccer tournament saw teams compete in a round robin tournament at Old Parktonian Sports Club, Bordeaux, on 1 May.

Thirteen teams competed for the prestigious title of first place. The third annual event was held to raise funds for Ann Harding Cheshire Home resident, Tom Sundawo, to support his stay there. The teams played a tough round robin and a series of knock-out 20 minute games. Fundraiser for the home based in Northwold, Jackie Kyle said, “It was a rocky start but the day was a great success. It is so much fun seeing all of these teams compete for a great cause.”

Team member Kyle Davies commented, “I love to play soccer and to play for Tom is an even greater experience. Anything for charity is awesome especially when it involves soccer.”

“I would like to thank all of the sponsors and those who helped make this event happen, it really warms my heart,” said Tom Sundawo.

After a long, incredibly hot day, the exhausted teams played the finals. Galacticos narrowly snatched third place from Kla Ge Praat. Second place was taken by Sambo, and Pansula proudly won first place. [Insert video]
