Johannesburg Water gets stuck

FERNDALE – Johannesburg Water gets stuck while they try to repair a hole in Fleet Street.

A team from Johannesburg Water (JW) caused a stir in Fleet Street when their truck got stuck in a hole that they were sent out to repair.

Resident Rolf Schnurr explained that residents in the area noticed a stream of water that ran down Fleet Street and they discovered a stream that was pushing through the tarred surface. He continued and said that the stream made a big hole in the road a couple of days later.

“The inevitable happened and a vehicle drove into the hole and some residents decided that enough was enough so they planted a tree in the hole.”

Schnurr added that over the next couple of weeks they called JW to complain about the issue but nothing happened.

“Finally, on 28 March the entity sent a team that managed to repair the leak but they left the road in a mess after they repaired it.”

According to Schnurr, the entity sent out a team with a truck to clean up the road and that is when they drove into the hole.

“They couldn’t get it out so they had to lift it out with a front-end loader,” concluded Schnurr.

Comment from Johannesburg Water is awaited.
