RANDBURG – St Stithians walks over St Benedict.
The St Stithians College Easter Sports Festival had a smashing start on 1 April, with the Saints tennis team comfortably beating St Benedict’s College. The tennis tournament is being played in a round-robin points system. The Saints team won the day 61–43, giving them a good foundation for the rest of the tournament.
“I am very happy with the result,” said Saints tennis coach Marius Masencamp. Co-captain Dylan Walters was also grinning after his 8–1 victory against Sheldon Löser. “I served well on tight points when I needed to,” said Walters, who was recently selected for the SA Schools U17 team. “I had a solid game. I did not really make unforced errors and it paid off.” Masencamp said that Walters is the best player in the team, with great talent and concentration.
