Biker in critical condition
JOHANNESBURG NORTH – Driver of scooter is airlifted to hospital.
A man driving a scooter was left in a serious condition after an accident on the morning of 24 February.
He crashed into the back of a car on the N14 Highway near the R511 (William Nicol Drive), north of Johannesburg.
ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring said paramedics from the company’s Johannesburg North branch arrived on scene and found the patient lying next to the road.
His wrecked scooter lay nearby.
“On assessment, paramedics found that the man had sustained serious injuries to his back and abdomen,” Meiring said. “Advanced life support paramedics began their treatment of the patient… Once treated, the patient was airlifted by the AER24 helicopter to Sandton Mediclinic for further treatment.” The cause of the accident is currently unknown.
