LISTEN: Resident describes flooding scene

Resident Lisa Tilley awoke to a very unpleasant sight on 17 February, after rain had caused flooding in many parts of Randburg.

In a soundbite, the Jukskei Park resident described how the Klein Jukskei River had overflowed and entered her property.

Thankfully, her house is positioned on a hill, higher than the rest of her premises, and was not affected.

“Tonnes of mud has been deposited onto the garden verge and into the driveway,” Tilley said, claiming that the water level was 1.5m high.

She added that water also entered and filled her car.
