Top matrics at St Stithians Boys’ and Girls’ College

RANDBURG – St Stithians Boys’ and Girls’ College celebrate their matriculants’ results.

Excited matrics packed the lobby of St Stithians Boys’ and Girls’ Colleges in order to receive their matric results on 31 December.

The respective schools achieved a 100 per cent pass rate, with 99 (Girls College) and 94 (Boys College) per cent of the matrics qualifying for entry to a Bachelor Degree. Pupils took a sigh of relief as they collected their results. Matriculants this year received their results via sms on 30 December at around 11pm.

The four top achieving matriculants Ayanda Nyathi, Ruth Gorven, Shani Pienaar, and Head Girl Rufaro Sithole received outstanding marks, all receiving eight distinctions.  Nyathi commented, “It was a huge relief for me to see what the outcome of my efforts have been.” Upon hearing the news that he was one of the top achievers at his school Nyathi had the following to say, “It’s been a very pleasant surprise. I never thought it would be me.” Nyathi plans on studying Chemical Engineering at UCT.

Luthando Ngubo who got six distinctions said, “With the new syllabus it’s been an uphill challenge, but our success is well deserved.” Ngubo plans on studying creative brand communication at Vega School and entertainment law at UCLA.

The pupils were not the only ones celebrating the stellar results. Head of St Stithians Girls’ College Ivanka Acquisto had the following to say about the matrics’ achievements, “They are a wonderfully cohesive group of pupils. We are exceptionally proud of our matrics and their well-deserved achievements.”

Rector of St Stithians College Dr Tim Nuttall said, “Our pupils are amazing.  They worked so hard and collaborated so beautifully with our dedicated academic staff in achieving these momentous results. The added support from parents and friends should also be commended.”

The pupils from both schools performed exceptionally well throughout a wide array of academic disciplines “We have received excellent results in languages, maths, sciences, social sciences, and dramatic arts,” added Nutall.
