This after the initial report by Netcare Limited Inland Media Liaison Chris Botha that four of the patients were in a serious condition (see previous article). Six of the seven injured were occupants of the taxi, and the seventh was the cyclist. “When ER24 paramedics arrived on scene, they found the truck and taxi in the one lane of the busy road,” Meiring said. “The load of manure that the truck had been transporting was spread across the scene.”

He explained that ER 24 paramedics treated the patients, and provided advanced life support to the critically injured. “The cause of the collision is not yet known but local authorities were on scene for further investigations,” he concluded. Douglasdale Police spokesperson Warrant Officer Balan Muthan did not have any details of the accident at the time.
