RANDBURG – Douglasdale police seek owners of jewellery box and Randburg police station arrests murder suspects.

Randburg Police spokespeople have confirmed the arrest of three armed robbers who were wanted in connection with a stabbing incident which took place at 7pm on 30 July in the Ferndale business district.

The station also released the following information regarding arrests made in the Randburg area for the week ending 31 July:

N Dealing in liquor (1)

N Shoplifting (3)

N Possession of suspected drugs (2)

N Fraud (1)

N Possession of dagga (5)

N Rape (1)

N Drunk and driving (4)

N Assault with intent to do grievously body harm (1)

N Theft (1)

N Business breaking (2)

N Reckless and negligent driving (1)

N Theft of cellphone (2)

N Robbery with weapon other than a firearm (1)

Douglasdale Police has requested help from residents to identify the owners of a jewellery box which has been in their evidence room since it was recovered from a crime scene along with a panic button, a pocket knife and a Porche key.

If anyone has information on these items, and can prove who they belong to, they are welcome to contact Douglasdale Police Station and ask for Warrant Officer Anke Holler in the evidence department.

The station would also like to appeal to those in Douglasdale who applied for gun licence renewals at Linden Police Station. The renewals have since been transported to Douglasdale Police Station and are awaiting collection.
