Zandspruit cleaner after Mandela Day
ZANDSPRUIT – Company and residents fill about 350 bags of rubbish.
ZANDSPRUIT – Not-for-gain company 1in1out organised a clean-up in Zandspruit on Mandela Day, 18 July.
About 43 adults and 69 children filled about 350 bags with rubbish found on the streets, and they finished long before their planned 67 minutes were up, said CEO of the company, Stephen Thomas.
“We sent out a strong message that cleanliness is next to Godliness and poverty is no excuse to live in filth,” he said.
The group also asked home owners and spaza shop attendants to keep their surrounding areas clean.
