Bowls, a great all-round sport

LINDEN - Bowling lovers are invited to join the Linden Bowling Club for internal competition.

Playing marbles never goes out of fashion.

The Linden Bowling Club will host an internal bowling competition on 5 July.

The club invites keen bowlers for “tabs” bowls, which takes place in the afternoon, to participate in the exhilarating sport.

“There are many sportsmen and women that are in transition from sports such as cricket, hockey, squash, rugby, soccer that would find bowls an ideal alternative,” says Ted Keartland, President of Linden Bowling Club.

“We also offer new bowlers the opportunity to meet us at the club so that we can discuss their introduction to the sport. We can then inform them of free courses we offer to teach them how to play lawn bowls….At the same time they can get an idea of the social side of club life and meet some of the bowlers.”

Keartland adds, bowls is a great way to meet other people and to enjoy the camaraderie and the competitive side of sport, while enjoying the fresh air.
