Old Parktonians help clean up the Spruit

The Old Parktonian Sports Club took part in the Spruit Day on 7 June where club members and residents helped to clean their communities.

“More or less 85 residents came to support us on the City of Joburg’s clean-up of the Braamfontein Spruit as our sport club facility faces the river and goes around the Spruit,” said Old Parktonian Sports Club manager Lizette Driescher.

Driescher was extremely pleased and grateful to have the community involved. “People who do not stay around the area also came in numbers to support. The boys who we sponsor come from other parts of Joburg and also came to help. The homeless people that sleep near the Spruit also helped us out. It was a successful clean-up.”
