Just married
Going to the chapel was not their wedding song, but John and Lucie Wood did get married, like the song goes.
The past three weeks have been absolute bliss for newly weds John (80) and Lucie Wood (84).
The couple tied the knot on 1 February at the Golden Harvest II Retirement Village where they live. The small and intimate wedding hosted 38 guests with Lucie’s two granddaughters Michelle Bosman and Bridget Sam walking her down the aisle.
Following the beautiful ceremony in the chapel the couple waltzed their way into the reception.
After their wedding the Woods spent a week in Cape Town celebrating their union. They plan to visit Durban and Port Elizabeth later this year, but they are in no hurry, they said. John is originally from Port Elizabeth and he wants to show his new wife the place where he was raised.
