Progress in Ward 104 service delivery

Ward 104 councillor Mike Wood meets with the City of Johannesburg Region B inspectors to discuss service delivery.

Ward 104 councillor Mike Wood met with the city council urban inspectors for Region B to discuss all the problems faced in his community.

Wood said the inspectors would look at all the complaints that the residents logged, and also other issues that they may come across. Officials will then return on 7 February to have the problems fixed.

“Once we have recorded all the problems our teams will then start planning as to how long each matter will take to resolve and then begin implementing those services,” said inspector for Region B, Nokuthula Ngobese.

According to Wood this initiative by the city council had proven to be very successful over the past two years. Wood encouraged residents to report any service delivery issues to the relevant entity. “This is to try get residents to take the responsibility of reporting any issues that they may have with service delivery,” explained Wood.

The councillor and inspectors began their day on the corner of Elgin Avenue and Oxford Street where inspector Sibusiso Mavimbela recorded a complaint about a street light pole that was leaning over.
