Audi brings excitement to South African racetracks

South Africans will soon be able to experience the thrill of getting behind the wheel of an Audi for themselves, as the Audi driving experience is returning to the country.

The Audi driving experience is set to organise a series of pop-up events from July to November. These events will take place in various provinces, utilising tracks such as the Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit in Gauteng, the Plaaspad Racetrack in the Western Cape and the Dezzi South Coast Raceway in KwaZulu-Natal.

“We are delighted to announce the relaunch of the Audi driving experience in South Africa,” said Sascha Sauer, the head of Audi South Africa. “This presents an incredibly exciting opportunity for South Africans to explore the exceptional performance of Audi’s models, ranging from the recent winner in the South African Car of the Year’s performance category, the RS 3, to the flagship models like the RS Q8 and the legendary R8 with its V10 engine. These professional driving experience programmes will focus on speed, safety and precision driving.”

This experience will allow drivers to take the wheel of various Audi RS models, including the Audi RS 3 Sportback and Sedan, the RS 4 Avant, the RS 5 Sportback, the RS 6 Avant and the RS Q8. Participants will also have the opportunity to experience Audi’s high-performance and fully electric Audi RS e-tron GT.

Mark Allison, a key member and the lead instructor of the Audi driving experience team at Audi’s driving performance centre in Neuburg, Germany, will be spearheading the driving programme.

At its core, this experience aims to teach safe driving techniques and performance modules in a controlled environment. The full-day course will commence with a comprehensive safety briefing, followed by training sessions in which participants can refine their driving skills on the track. These sessions will include various laps designed to enhance understanding of cornering techniques, braking and acceleration, the optimal driving line, and the impact of weight shifting on the vehicle.

The launch price for the Audi driving experience is set at R9 500 (including VAT).
