Powerful Carroll Shelby Signature Edition Mustang now available in SA
Each Carroll Shelby Signature Edition will be entered into the official Shelby Registry
Named after race driver and company founder, Carroll Shelby, the brand’s limited-edition 2020/2021 Carroll Shelby Signature Series Mustang is now available in South Africa.
The limited-edition Mustang models pay tribute to the motorsport icon in typical muscle-car fashion.
On the outside, the new models come fitted with new aluminium fenders which widen the body and provide an increase in space needed for the one-piece forged monoblock wheels and tuned MagneRide suspension.
The rear is bolstered with a spoiler and diffuser as well as a new tail panel inserted between the rear lights. Changes to the inside are all clearly denoted by Shelby branding.
This complete package includes doormats and door sill plates, and a gauge cluster with Shelby gauges. Adding to the allure are also branded caps for the radiator, coolant tank and oil cap.
Should the customer want to remove more weight from the car, he can do so by replacing the rear seat with a harness bar.
The stopping prowess comes courtesy of new Brembo brake system with 6 pistons callipers on the front and 4 piston callipers on the rear.
Shelby has fitted extra cooling channels for the brakes to avoid brake fade.
The Carroll Shelby is powered by the familiar 5.0-litre V8 engine that powers the normal Mustang but massaged to deliver over 596 kW.
This was done through the installation of additional air by a custom Edelbrock supercharger, Borla exhaust system with four custom exhaust tips.
All Shelby conversions and upgrades are done at the official Mod Shop in the Western Cape by a team of technicians trained by Shelby American.
The Carroll Shelby Signature Series is priced at R2 708 000, including base vehicle.
