Water streamed from a pothole in Paul Street, in Miederpark for more than a year.

According to Lebogang Maphosa, a resident in Paul Street,  the water has been pouring out of a hole in front of his home since last year June. He alleges that they have brought it to the municipality’s attention.

“The respective officials came by and poured some crusher into the hole while water was inside. As well as into a pothole next to it. It’s a pool for the birds,” he said.

On the corner of Beyers Naude and Paul Street, there is another water leak that flows down Paul Street passed Lebogang’s yard. When the Herald conducted the interview, the Director of Infrastructure, Jack Monnakgothu, and a municipal employee were present to assess the matter. The officials explained to Lebogang that new pipes would have to be reinstalled as the infrastructure was too old.
