The 40th Great Brick Run was an event to remember as numerous runners took on the 5, 10 and 21.1km races on a cool and mild Saturday morning (19 January 2024).

Berts Bricks Athletics Club hosted this event where some runners had the special opportunity to run a portion of the 21.1km race with a brick in their hands.
Not everyone was up to the challenge, but those who persevered were rewarded with an ice cold six pack of beer.
Montshi Matshabe took the win in the men’s 21.1km race in a blistering time of 1:13:29. Rose Jijana took first in the women’s 21.1km race in a time of 1:26:37. Both men and women’s winners were. 10 minutes ahead of her nearest competitor.
Deanne Laubscher (Nedbank) took first in the women’s 10km race in a time of 36:54. Tolo Mooketsi of Klerksdorp Marathon Club took the win in the men’s 10km race in 34:39.7.
