Titans put Dragons in a web of spin

It was a largely forgettable match for the Dragons batsmen who were skittled out for 108 in the first innings and 145 in the second.

The North West Dragons suffered their biggest loss this season going down by 302 runs against the Titans in the CSA 4 Day Series.

It was a largely forgettable match for the Dragons batsmen who were skittled out for 108 in the first innings and 145 in the second.

Spin caused major problems for the Dragons at the J.B. Marks Oval with off-spinner Donovan Ferreira achieving a 10 wicket haul in the match.
Ferreira picked up 6/38 in the first innings and then followed it up with 4/44 in the second.
Niel Brand (4/35) also contributed to the batting collapse.

Only Grant Mokoena (50 off 89 balls) showed any real resistance as the match ended early on day 3 (Saturday, 23 December)

The Dragons bowlers restricted the Titans to 265 all out in the first innings and 287/8 in the second innings, but the batting left much to be desired.

Dewald Brevis scored 113 for the Titans in the first innings and Rivaldo Moonsamy made 98 in the second innings as the visitors extended their advantage.

The Dragons top bowler in the match was left-arm spinner, Sen Muthusamy who took 5/79 in the first innings and 3/93 on the second.

Two losses in a row sees the Dragons moving into 6th spot on the table ahead of the Rocks and Tuskers.
They were in second place at the beginning of December.

They next face the Dolphins from 14-17 February 2024 at the J.B. Marks Oval in Potch with a win bring crucial in avoiding a lower place finish this season.
