Two Dragons selected for SA A squad to face Windies A

All-rounder, Ruan de Swardt and batsman, Raynard van Tonder features in a 15-man squad for the three match series that will start on 21 November in Benoni.

Two North West Dragons players have been rewarded for their good form this season with a call-up to the South Africa A squad for the four day series against West Indies A from 21 November – 8 December.

All-rounder, Ruan de Swardt and batsman, Raynard van Tonder features in a 15-man squad for the three match series that will start on 21 November in Benoni.

Titans batsman, Neil Brand, will captain the side, which features a mix of experience and youth. This group of players will also have the chance to impress Proteas test coach, Shukri Conrad, with the Proteas tour of New Zealand scheduled for February 2024.

Tony de Zorzi, Khaya Zondo, Keegan Petersen, Hardus Viljoen, Duanne Olivier and Zubayr Hamza all have Proteas caps under their name.

Both De Swardt and Van Tonder are yet to be capped at test level and good performances for SA A could give them a call up to the senior side.

Numerous Proteas regular are scheduled to miss the test series in New Zealand due to SA 20 commitments. This means that the door is wide open for domestic achievers to get a foot in the door for Proteas selection.
