Crunch time for NW Flames as Telkom Netball League heats up

Momentum is now on the Flames’ side as they head into a bumper week of Telkom Netball League matches from 24 to 28 June at the Heartfelt Arena in Pretoria.

The NW Flames made it three wins in a row in the Telkom Netball League after a convincing 60–46 victory against the Eastern Cape Aloes on Saturday, 17 June.

Elsunet du Plessis’ side was on top of their game, and the Aloes matched them for the first three-quarters of the match.

The difference was down to the Flames’ intensity in defence as the player of the match, Sanmarie Visser, once again highlighted her credentials. In combination with Martiné Jordaan, the duo turned defence into attack, leading to the Flames gaining control in the fourth quarter.

Momentum is now on the Flames’ side as they head into a bumper week of Telkom Netball League matches from 24 to 28 June at the Heartfelt Arena in Pretoria.

The Flames have much tougher encounters this week when they face the Southern Stings, Fireballs, Jaguars and Free State Crinums. Wins could place them in contention for a semi-final spot, while losses will see them battle for a midtable spot.

  • Sunday, 25 June: Flames vs Jaguars – 12:00
  • Monday, 26 June: Flames vs Crinums – 12:00
  • Tuesday, 27 June: Flames vs Fireballs – 14:00
  • Wednesday, 28 June: Flames vs Kingdom Stars – 14:00.
