The third edition of the Future Stars Academy (FSA) Spider Cars tournament once again hit the sweet spot as over 450 children had an opportunity to take part in this football development tournament.

A total of 30 teams, which consisted of the age groups of u.9, u.11, u.13 and u.15 participated in this event which took place on the fields of THS Potchefstroom on Saturday, 10 June.

“The most important aspect is to expose the kids to a tournament set-up and to let younger players participate. Most tournaments start at the u.13 level, so this is a great opportunity for the younger players to get used to tournament football,” stated the organiser of the tournament, Claudio Lucas.

He also stated that football development was an important aspect of the tournament.

“The feedback from parents has been really positive. They are thankful for the opportunity that their kids have with this tournament.

Future Stars Academy have 130 registered kids who participate on a weekly basis on a Friday and Saturday. In each age group we try to field two teams,” added Lucas.

Lucas also mentioned a special thank you to Dumisane Sibande from Spider Cars for sponsoring the tournament.
