KFA kickboxers rack up medals at national championships

Shihan Johan van der Schyff is extremely proud of his fighters who once again showed that they are a force to be reckoned with.

KFA Martial Arts Potchefstroom brought home 29 trophies from the SA Kickboxing Championships held in Ellisras from 28-30 April.

This included a total of 15 first places, 10 second places and 4 third place finishes.

Here is a list of medalists from KFA Martial Arts:

  • Talbert Joubert: 3rd Points Fighting, 2nd Light Contact, 2nd Kick-Light.
  • Heinru Cato: 1st Points Fighting
  • Wico Cato: 4th Light Contact, 4th Kick-Light.
  • Franco Liebenberg: 3rd Light Contact
  • Ryno van den Berg: 2nd Points Fighting, 2nd Light Contact, 1st Kick-Light.
  • Leoneze Liebenberg: 1st Points Fighting, 1st Light Contact, 1st Kick-Light.
  • Mia Wernich: 1st Points Fighting, 2nd Light Contact, 2nd Kick-Light.
  • Kaylinn Pretorius: 1st Points Fighting, 1st Light Contact, 1st Kick-Light.
  • Luan Coetzee: 3rd Points Fighting, 1st Light Contact, 1st Kick-Light.
  • Kellen Gernandt: 1st Light Contact, 1st Kick-Light.
  • Zander van der Watt: 2nd Light Contact
  • Rinus van Tonder: 2nd Points Fighting, 2nd Kick-Light.

Shihan Johan van der Schyff (main coach) is extremely proud of his fighters who once again showed that they are a force to be reckoned with.

“We now have our eyes set on the SA vs Canada challenge in July, the Senior World Championships in November and the Turkish Open in 2024,” added Van der Schyff.
