NWU Junior Swimming Club continues to excel

 The swimmers recorded a total of 20 personal best times.

NWU coach Van Zyl Brand accompanied five enthusiastic swimmers from the NWU Junior Swimming Club to Bloemfontein from 3 to 5 March to compete at the SSA Level 2 Regional Age Group Championships.

Swimmers from clubs across the North West Province, Free State and Northern Cape competed at the Championships. The dedication, preparation and hard work of each swimmer were well rewarded.

The swimmers recorded a total of 20 personal best times.

*Skyla Schroll won a gold medal in the 50 m freestyle and bronze in the 200 m breaststroke for girls aged 17.

*Jasmine Erasmus won a silver medal in the 200 m breaststroke and bronze in the 100 m breaststroke for girls aged 17.

*Francois Rousseau won a bronze medal in the 50 m freestyle for boys aged 16 years.

*Arno Labuschagne won a bronze medal in the 100 m backstroke for boys aged 12 years.

*Keegan Tredoux won a bronze medal in the 200 m breaststroke for boys aged 12 years.

All the best to our swimmers who will compete at the SSA Level 3 Regional Championships in Germiston from 31 March to 3 April and those who will compete in the SANJ Championships at Kings Park in Durban from 21 to 25 March.
