Ferdinand Postma’s first team, started their season with a deserved win over league rivals Schweizer-Reneke on Saturday (5 March). In a tightly contested affair, the boys from Potchefstroom were able to pip their opponents by 10-3. Joe Seerane, head coach of Ferdies couldn’t have asked for a better start to their campaign. “I am very proud of the boys, they played well,” Seerane said. Although the junior team went down 13-5, Seerane was also impressed.
“The juniors, showed great heart and guts. There are a few things we are going to work on but many more positives,” he said. All round it was a good first outing for the boys in blue. Although this was a friendly, they will meet Schweizer in the league later in the year again.
