North West Cricket suspends Dragons head coach

North West Cricket released a statement in which they state that an independent lawyer has been appointed to lead the enquiry in order to shed light on the main accusations against Jacobs.

The head coach of the North West Dragons men’s team, Monty Jacobs, has been suspended with immediate effect pending the outcome of an ongoing independent investigation.

Jacobs, who has been the head coach of the North West Dragons since 2010, was still in charge as head coach in the last 4-day series loss against the Boland Rocks from 27-30 January.

The suspension of Jacobs comes at a tricky time, just ahead of the CSA T20 Cup in Gqeberha from 7-27 February, where the Dragons will participate in.
