Potch bowls clubs take gold

The day ended in glory for Potchefstroom, with PCC claiming gold in the Men’s Premier League and the Potchefstroom Town Bowling Club clinching Gold in the Women’s First League.

Not even the rainy weather on Sunday could curb the enthusiastic North West bowls players in putting up a superb display of proper league bowls at the Klerksdorp Bowls Club on the “Finals” day at Klerksdorp Bowling Club.

The day ended in glory for Potchefstroom, with PCC claiming gold in the Men’s Premier League and the Potchefstroom Town Bowling Club clinching Gold in the Women’s First League.

The host, Klerksdorp Bowling Club, had to settle for the two silver medals in the Premier League.

The full results are: Ladies Premier League

Gold – Parys – Magdel O’Donoghue, Linda Fuhri, Esmé Uys and Lazuya Serfontein Silver – Klerksdorp – Jillian Booth, Dalene Peens, Anina Neethling and René de Jager.

Ladies First League Gold – Potchefstroom – Corrie Breitenbach, Baybee Mojanaga, Sandrea Mostert and Serlina Venter Silver – Lafarge – Corrie Meyer, Natasha Herbst, Marisa Veenstra and Nadia Herbst.

Men’s Premier League Gold – PCC – Theuns Botha, Gert Putters, JD Delport and Albert Britz Silver – Klerksdorp – Tinus Crous, Richard Harris, Louis Botha and Piet Croucamp.

Men’s First League Gold – Fochville – Francois van der Merwe, Carl de Klerk, Jody Standing and Gert van Tonder Silver – Mahikeng – Trevor Watson-Thomas, Timothy Matippa, Hein Weingartz and Ray Schaller.
