Dragons look for winning results in T20 Cup

The NW Dragons will hope that the change of pace with coloured kit and white ball will bring more fortunate results after a frustrating time in the longer format.

After a string of losses in the CSA 4 Day competition, including an innings defeat against the Paarl Rocks last weekend, the NW Dragons will want to regroup ahead of an important CSA T20 Challenge tournament in Gqeberha (PE) from 7 to 27 February.

The NW Dragons will hope that the change of pace with coloured kit and white ball will bring more fortunate results after a frustrating time in the longer format.

Historically, the NW Dragons have been more successful in the shorter formats, having last won the CSA Provincial One Day Cup in 2018 and also qualifying for the semi-finals in the CSA T20 knockout challenge in 2021.

Nicky van den Bergh will captain the team with Proteas all-rounder, Dwaine Pretorius also strengthening the batting and bowling department.

Wesley Marshall is always aggressive upfront and will be one of the key players for the Dragons. Delano Potgieter, who missed the previous T20 challenge late last year, will also relish the opportunity to showcase his worth in the shorter format. All the matches will take place in a bio-secure bubble at St. George’s Park.
