Tawana eager for back-to-back wins in ABC Motsepe League

NWU Tawana is currently in fourth place on the log with eight points from five matches.

NWU Tawana FC made a telling statement of intent in a 3–0 away match victory against Kgositlile FC in the ABC Motsepe League NW stream A last weekend.

This match was played in rainy conditions in Hammanskraal but, despite the challenges, Tawana managed to gain an important three points. Lefa Lebalelo, Brian Maleka and Tjipenandjambi Karuuombe found the net for the Potchefstroomers.

According to NWU Tawana head coach, Michael Seleka, his team adapted well to the conditions and stuck to their game plan, despite both teams going down to 10 men.

“At half time, we were leading 1–0 and made a sub during half time, due to an early booking. Both teams got a red card in the second half and we managed to score two more goals to make it 3–0,” he added.

NWU Tawana now shifts its focus to their next home encounter against the bottom of the log, Captain Eleven FC at the Fanie du Toit Sports Grounds on Friday, 10 December. NWU Tawana is currently in fourth place on the log with eight points from five matches.

They have a goal difference of zero having scored eight times and conceding the same number of goals. A second consecutive win could take Seleka’s men to the third spot on the table – more motivation will not be needed for this talented team.
