Dragons ready to compete with the best this season

“The goal as a captain in the end is to win matches and that will be our goals in this season in order to be a competitive unit.

A select group of players will want to shape this new North West Dragons A division side into a team with a competitive cricketing culture and a winning mentality.

Van den Bergh, stated his teams’ intentions this season during the NW Dragons season launch at the Elgro River Lodge on Tuesday, 21 September.

“The goal as a captain in the end is to win matches and that will be our goals in this season in order to be a competitive unit. It is a very exciting structure giving guys a lot of new opportunities. I think people will be pleasantly surprised with the amount of talent in the country,” he stated.

Van den Bergh also mentioned the importance of getting Potch and the province of North West behind the team to create a proud association with the Dragons.

An experienced campaigner in his own right, Senuran Muthusamy, who previously played his cricket for the Dolphins, is looking forward to the new challenge at the North West Dragons.

“I believe we can do special things at the Dragons and create memories here. I believe that I can learn a lot and impart my own knowledge to the team as well,” he mentioned.

Lwandiswa Zuma, is a fiery young fast bowler who will want to stake his claim and make the most of new beginnings at the Dragons.

“It is a massive opportunity to play at the highest level domestically in order to play at a high level internationally. Our strength as a bowling unit is that we bring different strengths. What will play to our advantage is that no other team has yet seen us as a unit,” added Zuma.
