Results: Bush Run tests the best

The former Affies alumnus, current NWU student and Potch Track Club athlete, Luan Munnik, took a deserved win in 12:50.

On a chilly and rainy Saturday morning (28 November), numerous runners took to the beautiful surroundings at Hartspad Adventure Trails for the Green Meadows Hartspad Bush Run 2.0.
The second edition of the Bush Run for 2020 was just as exciting as the first, with runners stamping their talents in the somewhat muddy trails in four, eight and 12-km races.

Christian Steyn took the overall win in the 12 km men’s category in a time of 55:56.1, followed by Morné Jansen in 1:04:35 and Wynand Malherbe in 1:07:47.

Elmarie Hayes was the first woman to cross the line in the 12- km three-lap race, finishing in 1:25:57.

In the eight-kilometre race, it was the favourites and experienced cross country athletes who showed the way.

Segomelo “Melvin” Mogomotsi took the win in a time of 29:37. Second place went to Armin Botha (29:47) with Janno Nel taking third in 31:20. Marike Roos was the first female finisher in 42:28.

The four-kilometre run was as fast as it was enthralling. The former Affies alumnus, current NWU student and Potch Track Club athlete, Luan Munnik, took a deserved win in 12:50.

Janko Botha took second in the four-kilometre version in 13:28. Rouxan le Roux took the bronze place in 15:07.
Alri Verster was the first female across the line in 17:10. Her sister, Danielle, finished in fourth in 17:35, behind Selma Kotze (17:29) and Leonore Lubbe (17:33)
