Athletics Central North West (ACNW) held their annual awards function at the NWU Sports Village on Friday, 21 February to honour the best athletes of 2019.
Although ACNW is one of the smaller athletics unions, they consistently punch above their weight and are regularly under the top 3 unions at national events.
The big winner on the night was Elroy Gelant who was named the ACNW Athlete of the Year for his fantastic achievements in road running and cross country.
Gerard Moerdyk also given a special lifetime achievement award for his services in the field of race walking.
Other award winners on the night included Miandi van Staden, Kayla van der Bergh, Tshepang Makhethe, Danel Hugo amongst others.
