India and Pakistan took on each other in the u.19 Cricket World Cup semi-final at Potchefstroom yesterday (Tuesday, 4 February). Fans from both sides had a lot of voice, but even though Indian fans were outnumbered in the stands, their side cruised to a 10 wicket victory against Pakistan.
It was a brilliant display from India on a sweltering day as Yashasvi Jaiswal smashed an unbeaten 105* (113) and Divyaansh Saxena a tidy 59 (99) to easily reach the total of 173 set by Pakistan earlier on in the day.
Pakistan were constantly under pressure as they could never register a big enough partnership. It was only Haider Ali (56 off 77 balls) and captain Rohail Nazir (62 off 102 balls) who could provide a challenge for the brilliant Indian bowling and fielding unit.
India will now face either New Zealand or Bangladesh in Sunday’s (9 February) Cricket World Cup final.
