Van Eeden shines on tarmac at SA Champs

She normally racks up the podiums on her mountain bike, but this past Sunday, Potchefstroom Gimnasium’s, Joné van Eeden, showed that she is just as capable as a road cyclist.


Van Eeden took an outstanding third place overall in the u.19 category in her first road race and first SA Youth Road Cycling National Championships on 23 June in Westville.

Potchefstroom’s young cycling talent, Joné van Eeden (bottom right) took third place at the SA SA Youth Road Cycling Championships in Westville, KwaZulu-Natal on Sunday, 23 June. On the top step of the podium is Frances Janse Van Rensburg and left in second place is Kelsey van Schoor.

Van Eeden was happy to take the third place and thank her coach, Johann Wykerd and Willie Pelser as well as her parents for their constant support.
