As a soccer player, the vcpatain of Signal FC wants to see more opportunities for kids in the community so they can also get a chance to reach their goal of becoming great players one day.

The captain of Signal FC, Kamogelo Nxumalo (20), known to most of his friends as Barca, is one of his team’s shining stars in their push for ABC Motsepe League promotion. Kamogelo, who was born and bred in Potchefstroom, currently lives with his mother, grandmother and two siblings. He finished his matric at Botoka High School in 2017.
Kamogelo has loved soccer since he was a little boy. He started playing the game when he was only six years old. He started his club football career at Tlokwe Youth Development and joined Signal FC in 2017.
People like N’Golo Kante and David Silva are just some of the famous footballers he looks up to. “I grew up playing soccer – it is something I’m very passionate about,” said Kamogelo.
His biggest goals are playing in the PSL or even going overseas to play in the English Premier League. “I have to work hard and make sacrifices so I can get a chance to play in those leagues one day,” he said. He plays in the central midfield, just like his idols. As a soccer player, he wants to see more opportunities for kids in the community so they can also get a chance to reach their goal of becoming great players one day.
Kamogelo currently has plans to further his studies while playing for Signal FC. He wants to be a sports analyst when he can no longer play soccer. Signal FC is on its way to the provincial playoffs, which takes him just a few steps closer to achieving his goal of playing in the big leagues.
