“It is going to be a different Roevan in the cage this weekend,”

"I am more focused, much fitter. It's going to be a different Roevan in that cage this weekend,"

“I am more focused, much fitter. It’s going to be a different Roevan in that cage this weekend,”

these were the word from Roevan de Beer, professsional MMA fighter about his  EFC bout on Saturday (4 May) at Carnival City.

De Beer won his last fight via triangle in the first round.
“I have been seen as one of the best grapplers in Africa for some time now, I want to show the same skills in MMA,” he said.
According to him he has only shown about 20% of his skill set in the cage.
“I respect every one of my opponents because I know what it takes to get into the cage, it’s not easy. But a good grappler with knockout power is anybody’s nightmare match up,” he said of himself.
Hishaam Kamish is the fighter who will be travelling from Cape Town to try and stop de Beer. Kamish is an experienced boxer and kick boxer, which could possible cause some problems for de Beer once the fists start flying.

Although de Beer is known for his strong chin. He has been hit hard but still kept coming forward.

“They say you’re only as good as you’re last fight, well I won my last fight in the first round. I’m going there to win. If it is God’s will, then I will,” he said.
Hamish’s last outing was his debut loss in the first round via a rear naked choke which could be a good thing for de Beer.
“It will be a good match up, he has been taking part in combat sports for a long time. So it will a challenge,” said de Beer.
“I need to thank my wife, my teammates at CGA in Bailliepark, my sponsors and all my supporters. God gave me the talent to take part in this sport for which I am also grateful,” he said.
De Beer vs Kamish will be broadcast live on the EFC Facebook page. The prelim bouts start at 17:30
