On Wednesday, 17 April 2019, North West Cricket recognised and honoured the individuals and teams that have excelled both on and off the field during the 2018/2019 season.

The NWC Annual Awards took place at the Snowflake venue in Potchefstroom. It was a spectacular evening where NWC took time to look back on a great cricketing season and celebrate the people who keep the union moving forward.

One of the major highlights of the night was celebrating the historical success of the NWC Dragon Women, as they remain the undefeated champions this season, winning both the T20 and the 50-Over formats and the CSA National Women’s Week.

Phil Simmons, the former West Indian all-rounder and gentle giant with a great sense of humour was the guest speaker of the night and NWC was honoured to have such a legend sharing some wise words and his experience. He urged all the players to continue working hard, assuring them that it is the only way to succeed. The North West Cricket CEO, HP Prinsloo, took the time to thank all NWC stakeholders and partners that have contributed to making this season a success.
