It was truly a night of celebration for the North West Dragons men’s team as head coach, Monty Jacobs, won the coach of the year accolade after his side won the CSA Provincial One Day Challenge Championship.

Other big winners included the North West Women’s Dragons team, and the North West Rural side who won national championships.

Hoër Volkskool Potchefstroom’s cricketers also shone as they were awarded the best u.13, u.15 and u.19 players for North West at the CSA National Weeks. Corné Prinsloo (u.13), Christopher de Freitas (u.15) and Louis van Schalkwyk (u.19) were the deserved recipients.

Anton Stapelberg won the North West Cricket umpire of the year award after countless hours of service on the field this past season.

Shane Dadswell was named the North West Premier League player of the season. The NWU-Pukke batsman had a scintillating season hitting a memorable high score of 490 against Potch Dorp at Witrand.
