International T20 action will hit Senwes Park at 14:30 this Sunday (29 October) as South Africa takes on Bangladesh in the second and final T20 international of this ill-fated tour for the Tigers.
Bangladesh has been humbled in both test and ODI formats thus far and it will take a brave betting man to go against South Africa making it a clean sweep of the series wins in Potch.
It is quite fitting that the tour, which began with the first test in Potch, also finishes in the home of sports in the North West and the Proteas will definitely want to end on a high note in front of a sellout crowd.
They will be without their regular T20 captain, Faf du Plessis, however, as he aggravated a back injury during the third ODI in East London whilst batting. JP Duminy will captain the side and the experienced left-hander will have a lot to prove with the bat after a turbulent year. Duminy recently called time on his test career and, with this renewed focus on the shorter formats, will want to make an immediate impact.
Other Proteas to look out for are the dangerous Quinton de Kock and David Miller who can hit the ball for miles. Former North West Dragons player, Dwaine Pretorius could also get a chance to show his worth with bat and ball.
The Bangladeshis will once again rely heavily on the experience of Shakib Al-Hasan who is rated by many pundits as one of the best all-rounders in the game. Another exciting player is Sabbir Rahman who, with a strike rate of 124, can also find boundaries at will. The biggest problem for Bangladesh will be to keep SA at a low score, as their bowlers have leaked runs worse than a broken tap.
The history books are also in South Africa’s favour with a perfect 100 per cent record against Bangladesh with 5 wins out of 5. Expect a run festival this Sunday. Nothing more, nothing less.
