The Proteas test team arrived in Potchefstroom for their upcoming first test match of the summer against Bangladesh that will be played from 28 September – 2 October at Senwes Park.

The side is buoyant ahead of this first test and was in a relaxed mood ahead of training this Tuesday afternoon.

Fast bowler Kagiso Rabada shared his sentiments on the upcoming match to Potchefstroom Herald and said that preparations has gone swimmingly since the team came back together on Sunday.

“I got onto the park with the team for the first time this past Sunday. The four day game that I played for the Lions also helped get me back to match fitness,” he said.

“Right now the wickets aren’t that quick, but personally I want to do my best and improve from where I was before,” he said.

According to Rababa, he is also excited to work with new Proteas coach Ottis Gibson and believes that a new start will do the team a world of good.

“It’s a new start, but there are still all the familiar faces in the team. There is a bit of adjusting to do, but I reckon that over a period of time everything will gel together,” he added.
