Tuks’ defence was also on top form as Shadene van der Merwe and Jasmine Ziegelmeier kept Anja Esterhuizen and Jessica du Plessis of Pukke at bay for most of the match.
Pukke never surrendered the lead from the start, though, and, although there were nervy moments, they came through with flying colours in the end.
‘We started the tournament very well with two wins against strong teams.
We need to keep our rhythm on the court for the upcoming games and improve our ball possession,’ said the Pukke captain, Chanté Bester.
Pukke plays their next match against VUT at 17:30 on Monday, 4 September in Bloemfontein.
