The 2017 SAPS National Mountain Biking Championships started in full gear on Monday, 28 August when riders from all over the country participated in a 5-kilometre prologue at PAWS in Potchefstroom on day 1 of the four-day championships. Local Potchefstromer, Frans van der Berg won the prologue stage with a time of 00:11:39 eight seconds ahead of Donovan O’Reilly and 34 seconds ahead of Wynand Mulder in third place.  The event takes place from 28-31 August and will see the riders take on the different stages at various locations in Potchefstroom. Today, they are participating in the cross-country (XCO) stage at Friesland Melkery on the Parys road. The action begins at 08:00. Be sure to support the riders who will give it their all to be crowned SAPS’ best.
