Sono gets another feather in his cap

The esteemed and highly respected football coach of Jomo Cosmos, Jomo Sono, recently had yet another honour bestowed upon him. He was elected as the president of the African Football Legends’ Forum. The Potchefstroom Herald decided to  have a chat with him about his new position.

1) How did the African Football Legends’ presidency happen for you? Were you selected based on your achievements?

Yes, I was selected based on my achievements, credibility, hard work, transparency and history in football.

2) What does being selected as president mean to you, personally?

I am honoured and overwhelmed.

3) What are your main tasks as president?

To coordinate and approve all events in AFL and create unity among all football legends.

4) How has the preparation for the first NFD match against Bush Bucks been? Are you satisfied with the overall mood in the camp, thus far?

Yes, we are ready. We have to be consistent and try not to lose games at home.

5) It seems that Mxolisi Macuphu and Lefa Hlongwane have found their scoring boots this season. Who should we be keeping an eye on for the rest of the season?

Yes, they are on song. We have a depth of talent in the squad, and you never know who the next big star will be.

6) What will be the key aspect in order for you to gain promotion to the PSL again?

To win all our home games.
