North West players shine at NW Open

The North West Open was held over the weekend at Lost City Golf Course and won by James du Preez from Gauteng North with a score of -13 after 3 rounds.
Runners up included Tristen Strydom (Ekurhuleni) and Darren de Smidt (Central Gauteng)
The best placed players from North West included:
Danie van Niekerk (Lichtenburg) 4th
Aubrey Beckley (Potchefstroom) 8th
Slade Pickering (Pecanwood) 15th
Theunis Bezuidenhout (Rustenburg) 28th
The Leopard Park Junior Open is scheduled for 17 April as well as the Ernie Els Primary Schools playoff for North West.
The North West U/17 boys’ team was also selected and includes:
André van Dyk, Thatho Maichotlo, Thapelo Maichotlo (all Klerksdorp)
Ray Janse van Rensburg (MooiNooi) Henko Naude (Rustenburg) Donald
Bottle (Leopard Park), and Charles Pieterse( Vaal de Grace) and Christiaan Burke (Potchefstroom)
The North West Executive Committee was also recently selected:
Peet van Schalkwyk(President), Leon Bevan(Vice President)
Hannes Botha, Mike Lig, Dawid Maree, Pierre Lotter
and Kaiser Cornelius.
