Transfer windows are surely one of the most exciting times of the English premiership.
The rumour mill has been working overtime, linking various players to big moves. With less than a month remaining before the start of the season, the search for the next big signing has intensified. Here are a few of the biggest transfer rumours and done deals.
The latest rumour is that Arsenal will have to pay in the region of £80 million if they want to lure Argentinian striker, Gonzalo Higuain to the Gunners. It is a well-known fact that Arsene Wenger has had his eye on Higuain for a few years, now but the frugal manager has yet to make the deal. Playing alongside Alexis Sanchez, this pairing could really be what the Gunners need to finally claim the much-deserved top spot. Manchester United has been busy thus far, with Jose Mourinho rebuilding the team, inherited from Van Gaal. Its first big move was to secure the services of the veteran striker, Zlatan Ibrahimovic. The experienced player is a great addition to a Red Devils team that wants instant results. United is also believed to be ready to pay Juventus £100 million for Paul Pogba. Pogba was a vital part of the French side that finally had to bow out of the Euro Championship as runner-up. Personal terms have been rumoured to be at about £222 000 per week. For now, Pogba has been non-committal on the move to Old Trafford.
“For the moment, I’m at Juve and I’m happy. I don’t know where I want to go,” he told The Independent.
Liverpool has been linked to Newcastle midfielder, Georginio Wijnaldum. The interest in the Dutchman is alleged because Klopp has been considering various offers for Joe Allen. Swansea City, as well as Manchester, are rumoured to be interested in the Welsh midfielder.
