Police find abandoned vehicle, woman still missing

Potchefstroom Police are seeking the public's help to locate 26-year-old Nomsa Jass, who has been missing since 25 August 2024.

The Potchefstroom Police are urgently seeking the public’s assistance in locating 26-year-old Nomsa Jass, who has been missing since Sunday, 25 August 2024.

Jass was last seen leaving her workplace in Potchefstroom. She failed to report back to work the next day, Monday, 26 August 2024. Her employer notified her family, who then checked her flat in Meyer Street, only to find it empty. Her vehicle, a charcoal-colored Volkswagen Polo was also missing. The police were alerted to her disappearance on Tuesday, 27 August 2024.

On Wednesday, 28 August 2024, the authorities found Jass’s abandoned vehicle in a parking area at Daveyton Mall, near Benoni in Gauteng. Despite this discovery, her current whereabouts remain unknown.

Jass is described as having a light-brown complexion, brown eyes, and black medium-length hair. She is approximately 1.2 meters tall and has a slender build. At this time, there is no information regarding her attire at the time of her disappearance.

Colonel Adele Myburgh, spokesperson for the Potchefstroom Police, emphasized the urgency of the situation: “We are deeply concerned about Ms. Jass’s well-being and urge anyone with information to come forward immediately. Every detail could be vital in helping us locate her safely.”

The Police is calling on anyone who might have information about Nomsa Jass’s whereabouts to contact the investigating officer, Warrant Officer Johan Mostert, at 082 568 5734, or the South African Police Service (SAPS) Crime Stop at 08600 10111.
