Dreams to reality for Ikageng girl

Dreaming turned into doing for Sibongile May when she received admittance to AMDA, a acting and musical academy in New York, USA.

Sibongile May, an Ikageng resident, received admittance into her dream academy, the American Musical and Dramatic Academy (AMDA) in New York, USA.

Sibongile matriculated in 2022 at Potchefstroom Secondary School, Mohadin.

Acting has been a lifelong passion for Sibongile, and receiving admittance was a dream come true for her. “Acting has been my passion from a very young age, and I have dedicated myself to honing my craft over the years. AMDA’s reputation for excellence in the performing arts and its commitment to nurturing young talent make it the perfect place for me to further my education and pursue a career in acting,” Sibongile says.

Sibongile received a partial scholarship at the Academy, but it is not enough to cover her schooling fees. “While the partial scholarship is a tremendous help, I am still in need of $44,690.00 (R 838,058.16) to cover tuition, living expenses, and other associated costs,” Sibongile says. “This is where I humbly request your support and sponsorship.”

Sibongile goes on to say that the generosity of the community will make a significant impact on her journey. “It would not only help me achieve my educational and career goals but also enable me to represent my country, South Africa, on an international stage. Your sponsorship would be an investment in the arts and in the potential of a young artist who is eager to learn, grow, and contribute to the world through the power of storytelling and performance.”

If you are willing and able to support Sibongile in her acting schooling, donations can be made. Banking details will be provided to you per request. You can reach Sibongile at 084 470 4698 or sibongilemay303@gmail.com for more information regarding donations.

“Your belief in me and my dreams means the world, and I am committed to working hard and making the most of this incredible opportunity,” Sibongile concludes.
