Alleged drug dealer appeared in court on drug possession charges

On Friday 21 April 2023, Paschal Ezekwuene Enuna (51) appeared in Potchefstroom Magistrates’ Court for possession of drugs. The court remanded him in custody until he appears before the same court on Wednesday, 26 April 2023.

According to Colonel Adéle Myburgh, NW Police spokesperson, Enuna was arrested on Thursday, 20 April 2023. This was during an operation conducted by the Provincial Drug Task Team at his flat in Dassierand, Potchefstroom. Before the search warrant was executed, the team had obtained and executed a search warrant. According to Myburgh, CAT with an estimated street value of R125 000.00 was found during the search.

The accused has been arrested several times for drug offences. He was out on bail of R19 000,00 in another drug trafficking case at the time of his arrest. The other three cases are still being heard in court. In addition, investigations revealed that Enuna’s asylum permit had expired and will be dealt with under Section 49(1)(b) of the Immigration Act 2002 (Act No. 13 of 2002).
