Donate to those in need this winter

The team has been collecting donations in the form of blankets, beanies, scarves, socks and soup ingredients since mid-March and will continue taking donations until 16 May.

Winter is here, and many are without food and clothes to keep them warm.
To make a difference, community members Marileen Theron, Zondré Visagie and Jeanne-Mari Jordaan have partnered with the Bafenyi Trust team. They ask you to lend a helping hand by becoming a part of their annual winter drive.

The team has been collecting donations in the form of blankets, beanies, scarves, socks and soup ingredients since mid-March and will continue taking donations until 16 May.
Bafenyi is a non-profit organisation that focuses on community development through different projects in and around Ikageng.\

“We have been involved with Bafenyi Trust for a few years now, and we got to see first-hand how hard it can be for people during winter months,” Marileen said. “They are our hands and feet within the community because they know everyone personally. We wouldn’t be able to do this without them.

“We sometimes forget that one small item of winter clothing, a blanket or a bottle of soup can make a difference. We can’t fix everything, but we can try by helping where we can,” she continued.
For this year’s drive, the team aims to hand out 800 bottles of soup, where adults will receive a blanket and children will get a beanie, scarf or socks.
The donations will be handed out at Bafenyi’s weekly community groups and kids clubs between 16 and 20 May.

“The groups take place at three different locations in Ikageng and Promosa, and everyone is welcome,” Marileen said.
All donations can either be dropped off at the Mooiriver convenience centre or you can contact Jeanne-Mari on 072 613 7671 or Marileen on 082 327 2950. Any monetary contributions can be deposited into the following account:
