This Saturday, 4 December, Lefa La Rona, an NPO, will be hosting a Christmas party for 38 children of Ikhaya La Bantwana.

According to the founder of the NPO, Lesedi Gaabue, Christmas time is known as a time where families come together and embrace one another with love, laughter and gifts. “That’s what we would like to give the children of Ikhaya La Bantwana,” she said.

“On the day, we’ll be playing indigenous games with the children. There will be dance competitions and we’ll also be catering for them, not forgetting the gifts from Santa,” she explained.

While the planning of the event is well underway, the organisation still needs toys to give to the kids.

Donations in the form of toys, stationery, clothing, food parcels and monetary contributions would be welcome. “All donations are highly appreciated. Let’s give these children a Christmas they’ll remember,” Lesedi said.

All donations can be dropped off at the reception of the old town hall, 212 Walter Sisulu Avenue. Alternatively, contact Lesedi at 071 958 2293 or Masego at 084 704 2460 for more information.
