Maintenance of Potch substation

Eskom plans to do maintenance at Potch Munic substation on Tuesday, 24 November.

According to William Maphosa, the municipal spokesperson, the power utility plans to work on its 88/11 KV Transformer 3AB from 09:00 to 23:30. “No residential areas will experience power outages during the maintenance. However, to switch the transformer back, the J.B. Marks 11 KV substation will have to be isolated for about one hour,” he said.

Power outages will occur in some parts of the western suburbs of the city and the industrial area but will be just for that hour. Maphosa says they may happen late in the evening when the switch is made. The municipality warns residents to treat all power points as live because the electricity could be reinstated at any time.
